NoiseFold is a leading interactive sound-art group founded by performer/programmers, David Stout and Cory Metcalf. NoiseFold will perform a series of real-time ("live") 3-D animations that utilize visual forms that both create and respond to sound. These abstract visual structures resemble the mutation and growth of single celled life forms & organic architectures. The result is a visual music theater where “lifelike” avatars emerge, evolve and emit a startling array of resonant glitches, chaotic rhythms, and shimmering sonic clouds. NoiseFold is an extension of Stout & Metcalf’s immersive installation environments, which explore the simulation of synthetic ecologies, complex bio-mimetic networks & artificial life systems. For the IPI Festival 2007 NoiseFold will perform several short excerpts from their upcoming show at the New York Electronic Arts Festival.
